While the partnership aims to address various aspects of EV infrastructure development, the construction of battery swap stations emerges as a key focus area. Obtaining suitable site resources for these stations has proven to be a significant challenge. Nio’s ambitious Power Up Counties plan, announced during the Power Up 2024 event, aims to establish a network of over 2,300 battery swap stations in counties across China by the end of 2025. Additionally, Nio aims to extend its charging network to cover all county-level administrative regions in China by June 2025.
To facilitate the achievement of these goals, Nio launched the Power Up Partners program. Through this program, external partners collaborate with Nio to build charging and battery swap facilities.
