Smartphone batteries have a limited lifespan and eventually need to be replaced. This was the case for my Pixel 6, which started showing signs of battery degradation. Not only did I extend the phone’s lifespan by another two years, but I also felt a sense of accomplishment in saving a device from becoming electronic waste.
To my surprise, the new battery showed impressive health indicators. Diagnostics features revealed that it had just over 200 charge cycles and was at 100% health. The overall battery life had significantly improved, and the standby drain was virtually non-existent.
While replacing a battery yourself is possible for Pixel phones, it’s important to proceed with caution, especially when handling delicate components like the display. 주의깊게 진행하면서, 디스플레이 커넥터 위의 홀더, 히트 실드 및 그래핀 테이프를 제거했습니다. 그런 다음 배터리 커넥터를 분리하고 배터리 끌어당기는 탭에 집중했습니다. 망설임은 있었지만, 부풀어오른 배터리를 마침내 당기는 스트립을 사용하여 접착제를 절단했습니다.
이전 배터리를 안전하게 처분한 후, 새로운 배터리를 연결하고 기기를 다시 조립했습니다. Pixel 6이 성공적으로 켜질 때에는 기쁜 순간이었습니다. 제가 전화의 수명을 2년 더 연장했을뿐만 아니라, 전자 폐기물을 줄이고 장비를 보호하면서 업적감까지 느낄 수 있었습니다.
